THE SOPHISTICATED STREAK OF THE PINSTRIPED SUIT
Al Pacino looking very sleek in a pinstriped suit, as Michael Corleone in the movie The Godfather.
No outfit has more radiance than that from an immaculate pinstriped suit. Making anyone from Al Pacino in the Godfather to Leonardo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wallstreet, look not only effortless chic but also extremely powerful. Having craved some more office authority lately, I found myself drawn towards these sartorial lines.

Where did these pinstripes come from? Apparently in the nineteenth century, originally made famous by stylish Brits, the suit would become increasingly popular throughout the globe as men (and women) wanted to project an image of sophistication and class through their choice of suit. There is a degree of controversy over how the pinstripe suit came into existence. In fact, there are two theories: sport vs banking. The sporting version saw the pinstripes as evolving out of the striped uniforms worn by men who were into boating. The banking theory has it that the pinstripe was a kind of uniform for English Victorian bankers and that the difference in the thickness and space between stripes was a way of identifying employees from different banks.

Lately the pinstriped suit has emerged as a go to classic statement style with everyone from JLO to Timothée Chalamet embracing the once dubbed wall street chic style.
